We believe that drama can play a major role in a girl’s development. Our aim is to build confidence and encourage creativity; the skills of natural performers are refined and even the most reticent girl is coaxed out of her shell through activities such as mime, improvisation, character acting and script work.
We have a specialist drama teacher who delivers lessons to all pupils starting in Little Vic. After their entrance examinations, Year 6 girls are given a weekly drama lesson in preparation for their spectacular end of year production. Recent performances have included Matilda, Annie and Mary Poppins.
Highlights of the year include the Nativity plays performed by the girls in the Lower School. We expect everyone to take part and are proud of the growing confidence of the girls as performers. The Upper School embrace the Spring with short musicals at the end of term and in recent years have entertained us with versions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lorax and a tribute to ABBA.
